Alliance for Quality Child Care members go to Springfield

On March 18, 2010, Alliance for Quality Child Care members joined other center owners, directors, and workers, along with SEIU Healthcare Illinois, to urge lawmakers to pass a fair budget.

On March 18, 2010 over one hundred members of the Alliance for Quality Child Care joined other child care workers in SEIU Healthcare Illinois to urge lawmakers to stop funding cuts to our programs.

As child care center owners and directors, we fight hard every day to keep our doors open, and to provide the quality child care our communities need.   But threats of state cuts to our funding loom large.

If proposed cuts go through, child care centers who are part of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) stand to lose funding for over 14,000 children in Illinois.

We will continue to urge lawmakers to do the right thing for Illinois' families at our next Lobby Day on April 21, 2010.
