Child care contract negotiations have just begun
Do your part to win a contract we'll all benefit from
Our fight for a strong, new contract is just beginning.
Hundreds of child care providers completed our contract survey and ranked higher rates and better healthcare as our top priorities. In January and February, we elected our statewide bargaining committee and members joined our Contract Action Team to make our fight even stronger.
So far, our statewide bargaining team has held our first meetings with the state, where we put our principles and priorities on the table.
This will be our toughest contract fight yet. Illinois is in its biggest budget crisis ever-- and the state is threatening cuts to child care that could hurt us, working parents and the children we care for now and for years to come.
Illinois' budget crisis means we must fight harder than ever to protect the vital care we provide from deep budget cuts now, and to realize our goals for higher rates and better healthcare in our next contract.
What you can do:
1. Sign up for news and rapid updates
2. Attend a meeting in your area to get involved and hear the latest news from the bargaining table
3. Join a Springfield Lobby Day to protect child care from devastating budget cuts
